In this series, Jon Kehrer (Old Testament faculty at Ozark Christian College) will topically walk through the first five books of the Old Testament. It will focus on specific portraits of God that we see in the Pentateuch, such as “A God Who Saves, Fights, Loves,” and more.

Lessons

A God who Creates
In session 1, we give descriptions of God, a God who acts and a God who creates. We also talk about the Pentateuch or the first five books.

A God who Blesses
Session 2 covers Genesis 11-12. In this session, we talk about how God blesses.

A God who is With Me
Session 3 is all about the story of Isaac and Jacob, Jacob’s family dysfunction, Jacob’s sons and God's presence.

A God who Knows
Session 4 covers Exodus 1-4 where we talk about a God who knows..

A God who Fights
Session 5 covers Exodus 5-15 where we talk about the God who fights.

A God who Saves
In session 6. we discuss Exodus 12, the significance of the passover and a God who saves

A God who is Gracious
Session 7 is all about the context of Exodus 19-20. We talk about the grace of God in the law and a God who is gracious.

A God who is Slow to Anger
In this session, we make observations about God’s anger and talk about God’s anger today.

A God who is Holy
In Session 9, we talk about moral laws, ritual laws, civil laws. We also discuss what we should do with all these laws and a suggested approach on how to see these laws through Christ.

A God who is Jealous
In this session, we talk about God as "El Qanna'", the allure of idolatry and the Sacrificial System.

A God who is Covenantally Loyal
In Session 11, we test and trace God's covenant loyalty.

God who Loves
The last session is setting the scene of Deuteronomy . We discover a formula for life. We talk about future generation and God's love.
