So many people struggle with their past. They have lied, stolen, gossiped, etc. and they believe that they are just “too bad” for God to accept them The Bible tells the story of Matthew, a tax collector. He lived his life lying, stealing, and cheating people out of their money. People hated Matthew. But, one day Matthew met Jesus, and everything changed. Matthew became one of Jesus’ closest followers. His story proves that no matter what you have done in the past, Jesus can forgive you and wipe the slate clean. With your new life in Christ, you will do great things for Him. God will accept anyone who is willing to give Him their whole life

Children often feel small and insignificant. They feel that they are so small and God is so big. They begin to believe the myth that God is too big to notice them. In this lesson, the children will learn from another small person in the Bible, Zacchaeus. They will learn how Jesus stopped everything to notice a small little man and even asked to come to his house. Zacchaeus became a believer and began to follow Jesus. No matter how small and insiginif- cant we may feel, God is never too big to notice us. He knows every hurt, every care, every concern, and every detail of our lives. We are never so small that God loses track of us. He loves us and cares about our every need.

Have you ever felt worthless? Have you ever looked in the mirror and felt that the person staring back at you was unlovable? Many children feel exactly that way. They feel that God is unable to love them because they see themselves as worthless. For some, it’s because other people have told them that they are worthless for a long time – and now they believe it. God made every one of us. He loves every one of us. Even if we can’t love ourselves or we don’t feel that others love us – we can ALWAYS know that God loves us BIG-TIME. In today’s lesson, we will look at the story of a leper to see just how much God loves those who feel unlovable.

We have all sinned. We have all made mistakes. If we will confess our sins to God, He wants to forgive each of us of all of our sins. Many people believe that whatever they have done in the past is just too bad to be forgiven. They believe that whatever they have done has made God so angry that He would never even consider forgiving them. God is willing to forgive each of us if we will ask Him. There is nothing we could ever do to make God so angry that He would not forgive us. In today’s lesson, we will look at one the Apostle Peter’s biggest mistakes, and how Jesus extends forgiveness to him in a beautiful way.

God has a busy schedule. Cre- ate planets in the morning, monitor the lives of 7 billion people during the day, cause the stars to twinkle at night, and much more. But, his schedule is NEVER too full to stop everything to help one of His children in need. Many people believe that God is too busy with “more important things” than to come to their rescue when they need Him. In today’s lesson, we will learn about how when Jesus was on his way to heal Jairus’ daughter, he stopped everything to help a woman in need. NO matter how busy God is, He will always be there for us when we need Him.

The Bible is full of stories of men and women who have been used by God to do BIG things for Him. Not ONE of them was perfect. In fact, most of them were flawed in many ways and had made many bad choices in their lives. It’s so easy for us to believe that God can use others to carry out His will, but He can’t use us. We think that God is only looking for the smartest, prettiest, most talented people who have never made a mistake. But, that’s a MYTH! Today, we are going to bust that myth in our Bible Lesson. The children will learn that if they make themselves available, God will use them to do BIG things for Him.
