Host Welcome to the Train Station, Jr. Conductors!
Co-Host Today is a fun day because we’re learning how to say a special word. It’s short but important.
Host This word only has three letters. Let’s hold up three fingers and count them together. 1, 2, 3.
Co-Host Would you like to know the word? It’s, “Yes!”
Co-Host Let’s use our fingers to fingers to trace the letters on the screen.
Host But why are we saying, “Yes?” Are we saying, “Yes” to playing games? Are we saying, “Yes” to smiling?
Co-Host I hope we’re not saying, “Yes” to going to bed without eating yummy desert.
Host We wouldn’t like that at all. I think we are learning to say, “Yes” to something that is really good.
Co-Host I can’t wait to find out. Maybe Conductor Carl will have a clue for us. First let’s get ready for the Train Station with a big, “Choo-choo!”
Host and Co-Host enter.
Host I can’t believe that Conductor Carl is lost. I hope he finds someone that can lead him out of that forest.
Co-Host What sort of things do you find in the woods? (Allow for answers) Maybe a moose can lead him out of the forest. Let’s make moose antlers with our hands, like this.
Host I don’t think a moose would be a good leader. They can’t even talk. It’s important to listen to the right person. It reminds me of what we learned in the Big Point. Let’s practice it with our friend from the music store.
Host I Can Say Yes To Jesus!
Co-Host Jesus is a good leader. That reminds me of a game. Let’s play follow the leader.
Host I like that idea. Instead of walking around the room, I want everyone to stand up and follow the same movements that I do.
Co-Host Copy exactly what our friend does.
Play follow the leader with different motions. Make it fun and silly.
Host You can sit on your pockets. That was lots of fun. When we say, “Yes” to Jesus, we say, “Yes” to being His friend and follower. That means we do the things that Jesus wants us to do.
Co-Host Jesus is a good leader, and He will only lead us to good things. I can’t wait to hear some of the good things that Jesus leads us to.
Host and Co-Host enter.
Co-Host At least Conductor Carl seems to be enjoying his walk through the forest. He’s making a wise choice by using that walk to read His Bible.
Host Did you know that our Big Point comes from the Bible? It does. We learn them from God. Let’s practice our Big Point again,
Host I Can Say Yes To Jesus!
Co-Host Conductor Carl shared a great verse from the Bible that teaches us one of the good things that comes from following Jesus.
Co-Host 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIrV), “The old has gone! The new is here!”
Host Let’s have some fun making ourselves look new. I’m chose some friends to come up here and try on some different costumes.
Put different costumes and wigs on the kids. Have the kids in the audience make different faces to make themselves look new.
Co-Host That was fun. Hmm, do we look different when we follow Jesus and say, “Yes” to Him?
Host Jr. Conductors, what do you think? We do become brand new when we follow Jesus, but we don’t look different on the outside.
Co-Host You can take off those funny costumes. When we say, “Yes” to Jesus, He makes us brand new on the inside.
Host That’s how Jesus helps us make good choices. I’m so glad that we have a good leader like Jesus. Let’s stand up and sing a worship song to Him.
Jesus has been so good to us. He chose to love us even though we have made lots of wrong choices. This is a great time to tell Jesus, “Thank You.” Let’s bow our heads and close our eyes. Quietly, at your seat, tell Jesus, “Thank You” for making a way for us to be friends with God. I’ll pray for everyone. Dear God, thank You for loving us and for helping us to become God’s friends. I’m so glad that you make us new on the inside and help us to make wise choices. We love you Jesus! Amen.
Host and Co-Host enter.
Host I’m glad that Conductor Carl found his back to his campsite. I know he’s going to love going fishing.
Co-Host Have you ever been fishing with someone in your family? What do you use to catch fish? Do you use your hand? No. What do you use? (Pause) Right, you use a fishing rod and some bait. Sometimes your bait is a slimy, wiggly worm. Let’s wiggle in our seats. Look at this picture of fishing.
Host Let’s play a fun game with fishing. I’m going to choose some friends to try this game. They have to see how many fish they can pick up.
Co-Host While our friends play, we can join them by pretending to use our fishing rods too.
Play the fishing game multiple times if time permits.
You can purchase a magnet fishing game or create one with a small fishing rod with a magnet on the end. Cut out pictures of fish and place a paper clip on them for the magnet to attract.
Host That game gives me an idea about our Big Point.
Co-Host It does? How does fishing match our Big Point? Let’s remind ourselves of what it says.
Co-Host I Can Say Yes To Jesus!
Host Jesus told His friends that He was going to make them fishers of people.
Co-Host How do you catch people? We’re not fish.
Host That means Jesus wants us to share the good news from the Bible with other people. When we become Jesus’ friend, we can tell others all of the good things Jesus has done for us.
Co-Host That’s a great idea. Let’s practice by telling someone beside you, “Jesus is kind.”
Host I’m thankful that we get to be friends with someone like Jesus, and I’m glad that He loves us. Let’s say the Big Point together.
Host I Can Say Yes To Jesus!
Let’s Practice our Big Point again. Hmm, did our Big Point say I Can Say Yes To Jesus! or I Can Say No To Jesus?
Point to your hair. Is it long or short? Point to your eyes. What color are they? Wiggle your fingers. Let’s count them. When we become Jesus’ friend, does He change our outside or what is on the inside? Inside
What is your favorite kind of animal? Can you tell me what sound that animal makes? What color is that animal? Who made the earth and all the animals? God Did our bad choices make problems in our world? Yes
Let’s stand and pretend that we are superheroes. What is your superpower? Let’s pretend we can fly. Let’s pretend we can jump over a building. Superheroes are pretend heroes. Who is the real hero who came to help us? Jesus Can you be Jesus’ friend? Yes
Let’s pretend to go fishing. What do you think we will catch? Let’s pretend to catch a giant shark. Whoa! It’s huge. Jesus wants us to fish for people. What should we tell other people about Jesus? He is good, kind, loves us Can you tell other people about Jesus? Yes
Look at these things.
Which one is new, and which one looks old? What does our Big Verse say? 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIrV), “The old has gone! The ____ is here!” New Silly
