Evangelism can feel intimidating, but it doesn't have to be. In this nine session series, Dr. Aaron Wheeler of Ozark Christian College and Lincoln Seminary presents a practical strategy for sharing your faith based on the spiritual spectrum. Instead of seeing people as simply saved or unsaved, you'll learn to recognize where someone is in their journey, whether Hostile, Stone Cold, Open, Curious, Seeking, or Decided, and how to do the right thing at the right time to help them take their next step toward Jesus. Each session includes teaching and discussion questions, making it ideal for small groups, leadership training, and personal growth.

Introduction

Do you feel intimidated by evangelism? This introduction moves past seeing people as simply saved or unsaved and presents the spiritual spectrum as a better way to help others take their next step toward Christ.

Session 2

Foundations for Evangelism

Evangelism is built on relationships and patience. This session lays the foundations for sharing your faith naturally with the people already in your daily life.

Session 3

Evangelism to Hostiles

How do you have a good talk with someone hostile to faith? This session draws on 1 Peter for strategies of observation, kindness, and patient witness with the most resistant hearts.

Session 4

Evangelism to Stone Colds

Stone Cold people are often experts at numbing their spiritual feelings. This session explores transition environments and other ways God breaks through indifference.

Session 5

Evangelism to Opens

Open people are beginning to feel a pull toward faith but often repress it. This session covers how to encourage them and give them spiritual things to do.

Session 6

Evangelism to Curious

Curious people are actively pursuing Christ. This session focuses on encouraging that pursuit while staying patient and not overpursuing their journey.

Session 7

Evangelism to Seekers

Seekers need a faith balanced in head, heart, and hands. This session shows how evangelism works as a team sport as you walk with someone toward decision.

Session 8

Evangelism to Decided

When someone is ready to decide, how do you present the gospel? This session covers two types of gospel presentations and the role of media in helping someone follow Jesus.

Session 9

Review

A review of the six places on the spiritual spectrum, the volleyball analogy for doing the right thing at the right time, and the rule of content and context.
