I. Our Eyes Play Tricks on Us
a. Where is our hope?
b. Revelation works to bring clarity to our struggle through three key messages found in
the interludes of the seals, trumpets, and bowls.
II. The Interludes
a. Revelation has three sets of seven:
b. i. The seals (6:1-8:5)
ii. The trumpets (8:6-11:19)
iii. The bowls (16:1-21)
And in between the sixth and seventh of each set is an interlude:
i. The sixth seal ends in 6:17 – The seventh seal begins in 8:1
- INTERLUDE = 7:1-17
ii. The sixth trumpet ends in 9:21 – The seventh trumpet begins in 11:15
- INTERLUDE = 10:1-11:14
iii. The sixth bowl ends in 16:14 – The seventh bowl begins in 16:17
- INTERLUDE = 16:15
III. The Seals = You are spiritually secure
a. Revelation 6:17—“Who can stand?”
i. Three Groups:
Christians on Earth – Revelation 7:4-8
Christians in Heaven – Revelation 7:9a
II. 3. Angels – Revelation 7:11
ii. Answer: The servants of God can stand because they are spiritually secure.
The Trumpets = So go witness Body of Christ!
