Host Welcome to the Train Station, Jr. Conductors! I’m so glad that you are here.
Co-Host enters.
Co-Host Oh no!
Host What’s wrong?
Co-Host I think Lionel just made a big mistake. Everyone, say, “Yikes!”
Host Is he hurt?
Co-Host No, but I’m afraid Conductor Carl is going to be really mad at him. I hope he doesn’t send Lionel to live at the North Pole. It’s cold there. Let’s shiver like we’re freezing.
Host I doubt Conductor Carl would do that. He’s usually very kind and understanding.
Co-Host I hope you’re right. If you think that Conductor Carl will make a good choice, say, “Choo-choo!”
Host and Co-Host enter.
Host Jr. Conductors, why is Lionel hiding from Conductor Carl?
Co-Host See? I told you that Lionel had made a big mistake. I wonder if he’s going to move to Australia. We would never see him again.
Host I think he needs to listen to the Big Point. Let’s stand and practice it again with Miss Meagan from the Music Store.
Host God Loves Us No Matter What! Great job. You can sit on your pockets.
Co-Host No matter what? Hmm, let’s think about that. Do you think that God could love us if we shouted at a friend? Let’s pretend to shout at a friend, “Go away!”
Host Would that be a wise choice? Shake your head, “No.” God wouldn’t be pleased with that, but He would still love us.
Co-Host What if we threw a fit when our parents told us to pick up our toys? Let’s stand and pretend to throw toys, stomp our feet, and make a pouty face.
Host That would not be a respectful way to act. You might even have to sit in time out. God wouldn’t want us to be disrespectful, but He would still love us.
Co-Host What if we snuck out of bed after we were tucked in and ate chocolate brownies? Let’s pretend to sleep. Snore loudly. Wake up and pretend to sneak. Let’s stuff a brownie in our mouth.
Host That wouldn’t be good because it’s wrong to disobey our parents and sneak out of bed for treats. Do you think God would be happy that we disobeyed? No. But would He still love us? Yes! I think we should practice our Big Point again.
Host God Loves Us No Matter What!
Host and Co-Host enter.
Host I’m glad that Ticket Taker Tom didn’t sell Lionel a ticket to Australia. We would miss seeing him. He really needs to know that Conductor Carl won’t stop loving him, just like what we’re discovering in our Big Point, God Loves Us No Matter What!
Co-Host Engineer Kelly shared a great verse that helps us understand the Big Point. Let’s read it. The Big Verse is found in
Co-Host Romans 8:39 (NIrV), “Nothing at all can ever separate us from God’s love.” Don’t wrong choices keep us far away from God?
Host I think we need a Jr. Conductor to help us understand what this verse means. (Bring up volunteer) I’ll have him/her hold one end of the rope, and you can hold the other end. When we make wrong choices, called sin, we push ourselves away from God. (To the Co-Host) Let’s move you all the way over there.
(Co-Host moves across the stage from the kid.)
Co-Host I don’t like the idea of being far away from God. Does that mean God stopped loving us?
Host No way. When we push away from God with our wrong choices, is His love still there? Do you still see the heart? Yes! He still loves us. He loves us so much that He sent Jesus to help us.
Co-Host I remember that. When we say, “Yes” to following Jesus, we get to be close to God again. I’ll move back to my friend. (Moves) This is so much better.
Host It sure is. The good news for everyone is that God never stops loving us, and He wants us to be His friends and followers. Nothing we say or do can stop God from loving you and me. That’s what our Big Point is all about. Let’s stand and say it again.
Host God Loves Us No Matter What! Now stay standing, and let’s thank Jesus with a song.
Let’s take a moment to say our Big Verse. You can use the verses you read in the Bible as prayers. Repeat after me, “Nothing at all can ever separate me from God’s love.” (Repeat 2x) Good job. Now I’ll use this verse to say a prayer. (Pray)
Host and Co-Host enter.
Host Did Conductor Carl yell and scream at Lionel? No. Did he stop being Lionel’s friend? No. What did Conductor Carl do? (Allow for answers) He forgave Lionel. I think Conductor Carl understands the Big Point,
Host God Loves Us No Matter What!
Co-Host Conductor Carl gave us an interesting Big Do today.
Co-Host He said to talk with our family about a time when God forgave us. Do you think that we can forgive someone else?
Host Let’s think about that. I’ll show you some pictures that show something wrong that happened. You tell me if you would forgive someone for doing that to you.
Co-Host Oh boy, this might tough. If you would forgive someone show us a thumbs up. Let’s practice that. If you wouldn’t forgive make a thumbs down. Let’s practice that.
Play slides. With each scenario, describe what happened, such as a toy was taken away or something was broken. Ask the kids how they would have felt in that situation and then allow them to answer with a thumbs up or down.
Co-Host I’m glad that the Jr. Conductors have decided to show love and forgive.
Host I think they understood the Big Point, just like Conductor Carl. I’m excited to hear what your family says when you ask them about forgiving. I’m thankful that our Big Point is true. Let’s say it together,
Host God Loves Us No Matter What!
Hmm, did our Big Point say God Loves Us No Matter What or God Stops Loving Us? God Loves Us No Matter What
Let’s pretend to drive a car. Can you make car sounds? Is your car going fast or slow? Let’s pretend it’s a race car. Whose car did Lionel accidentally scratch? Conductor Carl’s Why did Lionel want to run away? He thought Conductor Carl wouldn’t forgive him Was he sorry for scratching Conductor Carl’s car? Yes Did Conductor Carl forgive him? Yes
Let’s pretend that we are in the middle of a big crowd of people. Look all around. Oh no, some of them are mad. Can you make a mad face? Let’s growl like we’re angry. Who did the angry guys bring to Jesus in the Big Story? The woman Did this lady make wrong choices. Yes
Let’s pretend to draw something with our fingers in the sandy floor. What are you drawing? Who drew in the dirt in the Big Story? Jesus Was Jesus mean or kind to the woman? Kind Did Jesus love the woman who had made wrong choices? Yes
Today we discovered that God’s love for us never changes, no matter what happens, what we say or what we do. If you threw a ball in the house and broke your Dad’s tv, would God still love you? Yes If you did something wrong and then told a lie about it, would God still love you? Yes If you stomped on your brother’s foot and hurt him, would God still love you? Yes God will always love you. Nothing will ever change that!
Let’s spread our arms out wide. Now bring your hands close together. What does our Big Verse say? Romans 8:39 (NIrV), “_________ can ever separate us from God’s love.” a. Nothing at all
b. Lots
