Host and Co-Hostenter.
Host Welcome to the Train Station, Jr. Conductors! I can’t wait to find out what Conductor Carl and Engineer Kelly are up to today.
Co-Host I heard that Conductor Carl had to take a trip into town to see the pet doctor. I think his puppy wasn’t feeling very good.
Host Jr. Conductors, do you know what we call a doctor who only works on animals? (Pause) Yep, we call a pet doctor a veterinarian. Do you have a pet at home?
Co-Host What’s your pet’s name? What kind of animal is it? Some pets grow to be really old. Do you think pets could live forever and ever?
Host Do you think they can live forever? Nope, they don’t. But today we’re going to learn about Someone who does live forever. It’s good news for us. If you’re ready for another fun day at the Train Station, give me a loud, “Choo-choo!”
Host and Co-Hostenter.
Co-Host I’m glad that Conductor Carl’s dog is feeling better. I wonder how Engineer Kelly is going to travel to see Jesus. I wonder how far she’ll have to travel to find Him. Maybe she could use a car. Let’s pretend to drive a big, grown-up car.
(Co-Hostand the kids pretend to drive a car. Have the kids describe the kind of car they are driving.)
Host Speaking of cars, would you like to see my toy? It’s my favorite. Do you have a favorite toy? What is it? I’m glad that we have toys to play with. Would you like to see how my toy works?
(Turn on the toy. It should have a dead battery so that it doesn’t work.)
Host That’s strange. I wonder why it’s not working. It worked earlier. Do you have any ideas?
Co-Host Maybe we need to tell it to move. Shout, move car! (Pause) It’s not moving. We could pretend to press the gas pedal that makes a car go. Let’s pretend to push a pedal with our foot. It’s still not moving. What does a toy car need that makes it go?
Host Maybe it’s the battery. What if I added a new one, would that make it work? Let’s try.
(Add the new battery and show the toy working.)
Host It works!
Co-Host I’m sorry that your battery died. I thought toy batteries always worked.
Host Toys don’t work forever and ever. Sometimes they break or the batteries die, but our Big Point tells us about someone who does live forever. Let’s stand and practice today’s Big Point.
Practice the Big Point and have the kids return to their pockets.
Co-Host Jesus will always be around to be our friend. That’s exciting. I like knowing that I’ll never have to say goodbye to Jesus. We can tell Him hello. Let’s pretend to wave to Jesus.
Host Jesus really does live forever. I think we should keep our eyes and ears open to see what Engineer Kelly finds out when she visits Professor Beaker.
Host and Co-Hostenter.
Host Did Engineer Kelly need a rocket ship to find Jesus? No, she doesn’t need a rocket to reach Jesus. We can talk to Jesus from anywhere, but there’s something exciting that’s going to happen one day.
Co-Host What? Tell us!
Host We will get to see Jesus. One day, in the future, Jesus will come back to earth. He will change everything. Our Big Point is true
Host Don’t Fear, Jesus Lives Forever!
Co-Host What will Jesus do when He comes back?
Host God likes to create things. Our world is messy sometimes, so Jesus is going to make our world into a new world, a perfect world. Let me show you what I mean. Can you and the Jr. Conductors pretend to be flowers?
Co-Host Sure, I’ll wear this sunflower hat. What should we do first?
Host What things do flowers need to be healthy and alive?
Co-Host What do we need fellow flowers? (Allow for answers) Perfect, let’s pretend drops of water are falling on us. Shake them off of your nose.
Host What would happen if a flower didn’t get any water? It would die. Shrink down to the ground like a dried-up flower.
Co-Host This is sad. I don’t like being a dried flower. Can anything be done to help us?
Host Yes, you need more water. I’ll pretend to water you with my watering can.
Co-Host Jr. Conductors, let’s spring back to life. That’s much better.
Host When Jesus returns, He’ll bring all of us back to life, and He’ll make our world better than ever. Listen to our Big Verse.
Host 1 Corinthians 15:23 (NIrV) says, “Christ is the first of those who rise from the dead. When He comes back, those who belong to Him will be raised.” Because Jesus is alive we can live with Him on the new earth forever. Let’s stand up and worship Jesus.
Jr. Conductors, let’s practice telling Jesus, “Thank You” for all of the good things He has given to us, and all of the good things He will give us in the new earth. Quietly talk to Jesus and tell Him, “Thank You.” (Pause) Good job! It’s a wise choice to tell Jesus “Thank You” every day. That’s because He is good and always does kind things for us. I’ll pray and tell Jesus, “Thank You,” too!
Host and Co-Hostenter.
Host Engineer Kelly and Conductor Carl are excited to know that Jesus is coming back one day.
Co-Host I am too. I’m not scared about things I haven’t seen, like the new earth, because I know that Jesus will be with us. Let’s say our Big Point again.
Co-Host Don’t Fear, Jesus Lives Forever!
Host The Bible says the new earth will be so peaceful that a lion could lay next to a lamb. If animals are in the new earth, what kind would you want to play with?
(Allow the kids to answer. Have the kids use their imagination to pretend to play with the animals, for example playing with a lion as if it were a housecat.)
Co-Host Maybe you could swim with sharks in the earth. That would be fun. Sometimes I wish I could see the new earth right now.
Host It’s nice to know we have something so amazing to look forward to, but we have to remember that Jesus has a big job for us to do right now. Would you want to be Jesus’ big helper? Can you give me a big thumbs up to let me know that you want to help?
Co-Host You’re right. We have to be patient like when we’re waiting to go on a big trip. Let’s stand and fold our arms and tap our feet as we wait patiently.
Host You can have a seat on your pockets. We still have lots of fun things that we can do while we wait. Let’s keep helping Jesus. Let’s say our Big Point,
Host Don’t Fear, Jesus Lives Forever!
- Let’s Practice our Big Point again. Hmm, did our Big Point say Don’t Fear, Jesus Is Gone or Don’t Fear, Jesus Lives Forever? Don’t Fear, Jesus Lives Forever
Let’s pretend to fly into space on a rocket ship. We need to countdown from 3. 3…2…1…Everyone shout, “Blast off!” Can you make the sound of a rocket? Look around. What do you see in space? Why did Engineer Kelly want to travel in a rocket? To go to Heaven and see Jesus Did she need to use a rocket to find Jesus? No
Have you ever seen tall buildings in a city? How tall were the buildings? In our Big Story we heard about a city coming down from the sky. Who is going to be in that city? Jesus and all His friends Is it a dark city or a bright city? A bright city
Let’s pretend a creepy, crawly spider crawled next to you. What would do? What kind of face would you make? Let’s sing, “The Itsy Bitsy Spider.” On the new earth, will we have to be afraid of things like spiders? No! Will we have to be afraid of anything on the new earth? No
- Let’s play a game. I want to see how long you can keep going without stopping. We’ll try different things. (Examples: laughing, hopping, moving arms, running in place, spinning around, etc.) When Jesus comes back will His friends live forever and ever with Him? Yes
- What do you think will be the best part of living with Jesus? Do you think we could hug Jesus? Let’s pretend to give a big hug. Let’s see if we can remember our Big Verse. 1 Corinthians 15:23 (NIrV), “Christ is the first of those who rise from the dead. When He comes back, those who belong to Him will be ______.” Raised
