Welcome to the Train Station, Jr. Conductors! Thank you for joining us today. I know that Conductor Carl and his friends are so happy when you are here. I have a question. Do you know what it means when something is true?
Co-host
If something is true, then it is real, or it really happened. True things aren’t pretend or made-up. Let’s play a game where we have to decide if something we read about an animal is true or not true.
Play the game. The kids can shout out “true” or “not true.” You can also have them stand/sit, or they can raise two arms/keep their hands in their laps.
Flamingos are born with gray feathers. (True)
Crocodiles can stick out their tongues. (Not True)
Elephants are the only animals that can’t jump. (True)
Kangaroos can walk backwards and forwards. (Not True)
Jellyfish are mostly made of water. (True)
Cows can have best friends. (True)
Owls have eyeballs. (Not True)
Host
Oh my, did you know which of those facts were true? If you wanted to learn more about animals, you would probably read a book about them.
Co-host
What if you wanted to know more about God and His big plan for the world? What book would you read?
Host
Yes, you would read the Bible. Today at the Train Station, we will learn about that special book that God gave us. But first, say, “Choo-choo!”
Host and Co-host enter. This Engage uses the Color Bead Separation Illusion from laflinmagicstore.com. You can purchase this illusion or substitute it for a different object lesson.

Engineer Courtney thinks Conductor Carl might be an evil robot because she watched a movie and read a book. Do you think he’s a robot?
Co-host
Let’s move our arms like a robot. (Move like a robot) No, he’s not a robot, and he’s not mean.
Host
Engineer Courtney is listening to the wrong things. She needs to listen to a book that will tell her what is true.
Co-host
Let’s stand and practice our Big Point to find out what that is.
(Practice the Big Point) The Bible Is True!
Host
The Bible is full of special books that God gave us. These books teach us what is true about God and our great big world.
Co-host
When you read and learn what the Bible says, you can be sure it will only lead you to true things. The Bible will never teach you things that are untrue or fake.
Host
Engineer Courtney is confused right now. That happens when we listen to untrue things. We get all mixed up. Look what happens when I pour one cup of beads into the other.
Pour the cup of white beads into the cup of red beads. Show the cup to the kids.
Co-host
Look at that, Jr. Conductors. The beads are mixed together. Believing things that are different than what we learn in the Bible does not help us. Untrue things confuse us. We need something to help us get un-mixed up.
Host
That’s why it’s important to read our Bibles. It’s something you can do with your family. The Bible is completely true. It helps us know the difference between what is true and untrue. Let’s see if I can un-mix these beads.
Place the cups behind your back. Pour the cup of beads back into the empty cup. Only the white beads will fall into the cup. Practice several times before the Engage to ensure you are comfortable with the illusion.
Host
Let’s see if Engineer Courtney can learn our Big Point today.
Host and Co-host enter. If you don’t have access to a helium tank, consider grabbing a helium-filled balloon from a store the day before the lesson is taught.
Host
Engineer Courtney thought everyone at the Train Station was a robot. She was so confused. I’m glad she was willing to listen to the Big Point. Let’s stand and practice the Big Point again,

Professor Beaker shared an important Big Verse with her from the Bible.

2 Timothy 3:16 (NIrV), “God has breathed life into all of Scripture. It is useful for teaching us what is true.”
Host
The Bible is different from every other book. Those books were written by people who decided what to write or draw in their books. This Verse teaches us that the Bible came from God. He gave people the ideas and thoughts to be able to write the books of the Bible.
Co-host
The Bible came from God to us. That makes it special. We can have good ideas, but God’s ideas are perfect. Let’s think about it like this. I’m going to blow up a balloon.
The Host and Co-host blow up a balloon. Tie one off and leave the other untied.
Host
Let’s see if the balloon will float. (Toss the tied balloon in the air) What happened? Yes, it fell down. There’s air in our balloon, but it can’t make the balloon float in the air.
Co-host
Look what happens when one is filled with helium.
Fill a balloon with helium. Tie it off with a ribbon.
Host
What is that balloon doing? It’s floating. It’s filled with something much different than the air we breathed inside this balloon. Our Bible is full of God’s ideas and thoughts. That makes it different than anything we can create.
Co-host
We’re going to learn more about God’s words when we hear our Big Story. First, let’s stand and worship God who gave us the true Bible!
Optional, play soft instrumental music
Jr. Conductors, let’s tell God, “Thank You” for giving us the Bible so we can know what is true. Let’s bow our heads, close our eyes, and talk to God. Dear God, thank You for giving us the Bible. We are so glad that You only tell the truth and that we can read true things in the Bible. Help us to learn more about the Bible every day. Amen.
This Engage uses a Books of the Bible song. Different versions can be purchased or found online. Find one that works for your group. For this series, we will focus on learning the New Testament books.

Engineer Courtney discovered that all her friends are not robots. I think she’ll be more careful next time with what she chooses to watch and read. Let’s practice our Big Point,
Host
The Bible Is True.
Co-host
Daniel taught the king that God’s Word is true when he shared what God said about the king’s dream. We can practice the Big Point this week as we do the Big Do.
Host
This week’s Big Do is to ask your mommy or daddy to tell you a true story about them when they were kids like you. Then, you can talk about the Bible and how it is true.
Co-host
I have a fun idea. Let’s learn some of the books of the Bible by singing them as a song. Let’s listen to it and then sing along!
Play Books of the Bible Song and sing along. You can even incorporate your worship team in this segment and add fun motions to the song.
Host
That was lots of fun. I think it would be fun if we could all learn the books of the Bible. Let’s say our Big Point,
Host
The Bible Is True!
Let’s Practice our Big Point again. Hmm, did our Big Point say The Bible Is Untrue or The Bible Is True?
Make a pillow with your hands and lay your head on them. Pretend to snore like you are sleeping. (Pause) Who in our Big Story had a confusing dream? King Nebuchadnezzar Who was the only person who could explain the dream to him? Daniel Where did Daniel learn what the dream meant? God
Take a big breath in. Hold it. Let the breath out. Take a tiny breath in and let it out. 2 Timothy 3:16 (NIrV), “God has breathed _____ into all of Scripture. It is useful for teaching us what is true.”
Life
Silliness
Can you tell me something true about your day yesterday? (Allow for answers) Is the Bible true? Yes Can the Bible help us? Yes Should we listen and obey what God says in the Bible? Yes
What is today’s Big Do? Have your mommy or daddy share a true story from when they were a kid.
