Host: Welcome to the Train Station, Jr. Conductors! ¿Podrían darme una gran sonrisa?

Co-host: Um, I don’t think I understand what (Host) said. Could you repeat that? Jr. Conductors, put your hands up to your ears so you can listen closely.

Host: ¿Podrían darme una gran sonrisa? ¿Por favor?

Co-host: Now he/she added more words I don’t understand. Do you know what our friend is saying? Is he/she speaking in a different language? Do you know which one it is?

Host: It’s Spanish. I said, in Spanish, “Could you give me a big smile?” Then I added, “Please?”

Co-host: Oh, of course. Let’s smile. It’s easier to follow directions if you understand. Here’s something I know you understand. Give me a big, “Choo-choo!”

Co-Host Let's stand and worship Jesus

Engage 1

Host: It sounds like we have a big job today.

Co-host: We need to put on our thinking caps so we can help Conductor Carl and his friends figure out what God wants them to give.

Host: I’m glad they’re trying to give, even when they don’t understand.

Co-host: Conductor Carl does do a good job of following our Big Points. Let’s practice today’s Big Point now.

Host I Have Faith To Give When Jesus Asks!

Host: Today’s Big Point is all about obeying Jesus. Let’s play a game and practice obeying. Everyone stand up.

Co-host: It’s called “Conductor, May I?” We’ll ask (Co-host) if we can do something. If he/she says, “Yes,” then we can. If he/she says, “No,” can we do it? No. Conductor (Co-host), may we dance silly?

Play the game incorporating several movements. For some of them, say, “Yes,” but for others, say, “No” and give an alternative command.

Host: I had a lot of fun with that game. It’s important to listen to and obey Jesus when He asks us to give. Even if you’re not sure why or how, you can trust that Jesus will always help you do what He asks you to do.

Engage 2

Co-host: I thought for sure that Inspector Nigel would be able to help solve the mystery. Let’s say the Big Point again.

Co-Host I Have Faith To Give When Jesus Asks!

Host: The verse that Conductor Carl read from the Bible said that Jesus could help them.

Host: The Big Verse, Proverbs 3:5 (NIrV) says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Do not depend on your own understanding.”

Co-host: Depend is a big word. What does it mean?

Host: I’ll show you. Everyone stand up. Let’s pretend that that we have a cuddly, cute little dog. What kind of dog would you want to have?

Co-host: I would want a bulldog. Their scrunched up faces are so funny!

Host: They sure are. Let’s stand up and pretend to take care of a dog. (Pretend to give a dog food and water, give him a bath, and take him for a walk) Great job, Jr. Conductors. You can sit on your pockets.

Co-host: Can a dog get it’s food by itself?

Host: No. He needs his owner to help.

Co-host: Can a dog give himself a bath?

Host: No. He needs his owner for that, too. The dog depends on his owner to take care of him. We depend on Jesus to help us make the right choices when we don’t know what to do. He can help us know what to give. Let’s stand and sing a song to Jesus.

Big Story

It can be hard to obey or give if you don't trust Jesus. That’s because it takes faith to give. The word faith means believing in Jesus and what He says. Let’s take a moment to talk to Jesus. As we sit quietly, remember to trust Jesus to help you. A good way to build your faith is to say God’s words in the Bible. Quietly say, “I trust in Jesus with all my heart.” (Repeat a couple of times) Now I’ll pray. (Pray)

Engage 3

Host: I’m so glad that Conductor Carl and his friends discovered what Jesus wanted them to give. They were ready to say, “Yes.” Let’s say our Big Point again.

Host I Have Faith To Give When Jesus Asks!

Co-host: I know those kids will enjoy that delicious cereal for breakfast. What’s your favorite food to eat for breakfast? Mmm, those sound good. Our Big Story was also a great reminder of what we get to do in this week’s Big Do.

Host: Gather together as a family and ask God what He wants you to do with the money you are collecting this month. When God tells you what to give, say, “Yes!”

Co-host: I’m glad that our friends at the train station said, “Yes” to giving.

Host: Earlier I asked a question in a different language. Let’s practice saying, “Yes” in a different language.

Show the slides. Help the kids practice saying each word several times – Oui (France), Da (Russia), Si (Spain), and Nai (Greece).

Co-host: Good job, Jr. Conductors. Now you know how to say, “Yes” in lots of different languages. It doesn’t matter whether you are in our country or all the way on the other side of the world; if Jesus asks you to give, what should you say?

Host: Make sure to pray with your family this week about how to give it do the “Big Do” that Conductor Carl mentioned with your family this week. You can ask Jesus to tell you what to give. Then you can use the Big Point, I Have Faith To Give When Jesus Asks!
