Small Group Instructions
How many of you want to go to college?
Trade school?
Where do you want to go and why?
Have you ever considered going to a Christian college?
Why or why not?
Christian colleges train more than people who want to go into ministry so it is often a great choice for a Christian student to attend a Christian college.
Why do you think this verse is important to remember?
Many students leave for college and leave behind their faith as well. They don’t continue to pursue God once they leave home.
Why do you think that is?
How can you plan on being different?
What can we learn from this verse?
How does it apply to you and your journey in life?
Often times when major life changes come our way, like leaving for college or even entering high school, we can easily be influenced by the people around us. This verse reminds us to not conform to the world.
Often times when major life changes come our way, like leaving for college or even entering high school, we can easily be influenced by the people around us. This verse reminds us to not conform to the world.
This is our job as Christians. So as we enter our schools and look forward to big moments in life, we need to make sure we are making God the priority. We need to watch who we hang out with, what our words and actions say to those around us and make relationships that help others find Jesus. You can help others learn more about HIM just by the way you live your life.
What are some action steps we can take daily to make sure we are living the word of God and not just reading it?
How many of you have an accountability partner?
If you do, have you chosen well?
Do they know everything about you or do you hold back part of your life so that they won’t "call you out”?
If you don’t have an accountability partner, I suggest you find one. Someone you can trust but that will hold you accountable when you start to falter. Let’s pray about that.
