About

This one-year series, perfect for 4th-7th graders, is designed to engage families with fun games, exciting challenges, and Bible stories that teach about the love of Jesus.

Small Group Instructions

Section 01Materials: Optional game: Stale bagels and a hula hoop. Have students throw bagels at student while holding a hula hoop to their side. Student that gets the most bagels through the hula hoop wins. You could also just have the hula hoop on the ground and have students stand across the room. Another optional game would be to have a hula hoop contest. Whoever can keep the hula hoop up the longest wins!

Which of the reality shows mentioned do you watch? Does anyone watch American Idol?

Everyone was made in God’s image, God gives the gifts that He knows we can use. Those gifts come from Him but we must use them to keep them and to make them better.

Do you think if Megan had stopped singing for several years, she could just pick it up again? No, she would have to practice to make her voice strong again. We must use the gifts we have been given to glorify God and know that our gift is just another way we are made in His image.

While this lesson leads back to using our gifts, you might find an opportunity to talk about being in made in God’s image more. Remember that students are fighting the battle daily of not knowing “who they are” and “whose they are”. God made each of us unique and special. He made us male or female. We can’t change that no matter how hard we try. We must learn to find our identity in Christ. We encourage you to be open to this discussion as it is becoming something all our students must face and be able to resist in their daily life.
