What are some things of this world that Christians know are sins?
Push your students to think deeper than the obvious here. Most students are dealing with their identity in Christ, discovering who they are in this world and how they fit. The pressures at school and in the world will tell them they are suppose to be something other than their identity in Christ and that it is ok even though it is clearly spoken against in the Bible. Some churches are even affirming this so be sure to point back to what the Bible teaches and not man. This is a great time to dig deeper into that and how the world puts pressures on them now.
How do you deal with this daily? Do you think Satan uses your peers at school, teachers, even world leaders to tell you that being a Christian is wrong, stupid or even outdated?
Going back to our scripture today Jesus says the world hated him first and they will hate you for following him. Do you believe that? How can you stand against that daily? Is it hard? Do you think it gets easier or harder as you get older?
Work on our identity in Christ being first and how we can know who we are in Him and be assured that if we follow Him and stay on the right path that our lives will be better for it. Not perfect. We will have troubles but having God on our side will help us stand firm and know we are on the right side and will be in Heaven with him one day.
Believe, Confess, Repent, Be Baptized, Follow Christ and one day we will be in Heaven with Him. It’s a daily choice each of us gets to make. If we stray off the path and don’t catch ourselves, we can easily get further and further down the path. Having friends who are Christians and will tell us when we are wrong is always helpful.
Make sure to let students know you are here to help them make good decision like baptism when they are ready and if ever they make a poor decision and need someone to talk to that you are available.
