Section 01

Do you know what Job had gone through? Losing EVERYTHING he had. Sometimes we feel like we’ve had a bad day or year but can you imagine losing everything including your family? I think it’s important to remember that even Job didn’t understand why God was letting this happen to him, he still prayed and asked for help. He still believed in God and knew he had to praise Him no matter what. If you lost everything, do you think you would still feel like coming to church and praising God?

What do you think this verse is saying? Can someone explain it in their own words? Jesus was tempted in every way. He empathizes with our weaknesses and understands us. God wants to hear from us when things are good or bad.  Things were too hard for Job to handle by himself but he called out to God. Nothing is too big or too hard for God. We have to trust that He will take care of things and be patient while we wait for Him to take care of it. God hears us all the time.

Activity: Give each student a piece of paper and have them write down the hardest thing they have ever been through. Have them then write out a prayer to God asking for help if they are still in it or thanking Him for help going through it. If they have trouble coming up with something really difficult that they have been through, have them write a prayer asking God to give them confidence that He will help them when difficult things come their way in the future.

This will be our memory verse this week. We need to remember that God has overcome the world and will help us in our time of trouble.
