How much do you know about the Bible? Do you think it is important to know EVERYTHING about the Bible? Why? Let’s look at what the Word of God has to say about it.

What do you think that verse means? Do you believe God’s word is actually living and active? It is! God’s word spans the test of time. We know this because we know when we follow the word of God, we have a better a life.

Can we defend what we believe with the sword of the spirit? Yes we can! Because God’s word is living and active and it has the knowledge we need to defend our faith and to defend us from evil.

 In order to follow this scripture, we must study the Word of God for ourselves. If you merely listen and don’t do what the Word of God instructs, you deceive yourself. What do you think that means?

Do you think this means carry around the Bible and read it constantly? Try to memorize every scripture all at once? No. It means know what the Word of God says, studying it daily and remembering what you study by meditating on it day and night. Your thoughts should turn you back to God and what He says about your life, who you are and what He has promised us. 


We don’t need to know every little detail in the Bible like how many chapters or verses there are in a particular book. But we should know why we believe what we believe. We should study it for ourselves not just on Sunday when we have a class or sermon. God wants us to know Him as a friend and the best way to know a friend is to spend time with them. We spend time with God by reading his scripture and praying. Quiet time with God is so important for keeping us firm in our relationship with him.
