  3. Read through Zechariah 11:7-14 again. Do you think this good shepherd from Zechariah 11 is the shepherd that God will strike in Zechariah 13? Why or why not?

  4. What purpose will it serve for God to strike the shepherd in Zechariah 13?

  5. Read Matthew 26:30-35. What significance is there that Jesus quotes this text to his disciples?

  6. What significance is there to Jesus being the shepherd who was struck? How do you think this encounter with Jesus impacted his disciples as they reflected on his words?

  • Do you believe that Jesus is the struck shepherd? If so, how does it change your life?
