Navigating with the Lord’s Prayer (Session 2)

In Session 2 of "Navigating with the Lord’s Prayer," Jim Dalrymple explains how the Lord’s Prayer aligns our lives with "true north," guiding us away from worldly desires. It orients us across various axes—vertical, horizontal, and chronological—helping us stay faithful in the present, remember God’s past faithfulness, and hold on to His future promises.

Navigating with the Lord’s Prayer

(Session 2)

Jim Dalrymple | Ozark Christian College

The Lord’s Prayer aligns our thinking, believing, and acting to “true north” vs. magnetic north (the pull of worldly desires). As we navigate life, praying like Jesus can keep us on the true path. This prayer orients us along various axis points between, “Heaven, hell, and all life in between” (Bruner in Pennington, The Sermon on the Mount and Human Flourishing).

Past Present Future --------------------

Remember His Faithfulness in the Past

(Ex 13:3; Dt 9:7; Jdgs 8:34; Eph 2:12; 2 Tim 2:8; et al.)
