Host Welcome to the Train Station, Jr. Conductors! I’m so happy that you came to visit.

Co-Host (speaking into megaphone) I’m going to play with my friends today.

Host Oh my, that was loud. Our friend is using a megaphone to make his/her voice louder. Cup your hands around your mouth to make your voice louder. Let’s say, “Sounds like fun.”

(The Co-Host continues speaking into the megaphone.)

Co-Host I’m going to eat a corn dog for lunch.

Host Jr. Conductors, use your megaphone to tell us what you want to eat for lunch. (Pause) Why are you using that megaphone?

Co-Host I want to tell everyone important things about my day.

Host Today we’re going to discover something even more important that we can share. Be sure to listen for our Big Point. If you’re ready for a great day at the Train Station, say, “Choo-choo!”

Host It sounds like Engineer Courtney needs some help thinking of what she can tell the audience.

Co-Host It might be a good idea to practice the Big Point again so we can help her. Let’s practice it together,

Co-Host I Can Tell!

Host We can all tell the good news that Jesus loves us.

Co-Host That sounds like a really good thing to tell, but who can we tell that to?

Host We can tell anyone about Jesus. Let’s practice telling each other the good news about Jesus. I have two cans with a long string in between them. I’ll hold one end up here, and my friend will take the other end out to you.

Co-Host The sound will travel along the string, and you can hear what he/she says when you put the can next to your ear.

(Stretch the string across the room to different kids. Speak different things like, “Jesus loves you” or “God is good.” Have the kids say something back into the can.)

Co-Host Can you only tell people about Jesus who are nearby?

Host We can tell our friends, but missionaries go all over the world to tell people how much Jesus loves them.

Co-Host I’m glad that missionaries go and tell people about Jesus. I wonder if Engineer Courtney could tell people about what she learned in the Bible.

Host Do you think she could, Jr. Conductors? You should tell her when you see her.

Engage 2Materials: Overalls (2), Train Hat (2), Handkerchief (2), Handheld Microphone

Host and Co-Host enter

Host I think Engineer Courtney understands the Big Point. Wasn’t it cool how the missionaries in the video used a movie to talk about Jesus? Let’s practice the Big Point again,

Host I Can Tell!

Co-Host The Big Verse helps us understand what we can tell.

Co-Host Psalm 105:1 (NIrV), “Give praise to the Lord…Tell the nations what He has done.”

Host We should tell everyone what Jesus has done for all of us. That’s what missionaries do every day as they travel around the world.

Co-Host I have an idea. Let’s play a game and pretend to be missionaries. We’ll travel to a country. I’ll choose one of you to stand up and say something that you love about Jesus.

Host Let’s travel to the country of India using a boat to sail across the ocean. Pretend to row your boat like this. Row, row, row! Keep rowing.

Co-Host I’ll choose a Jr. Conductor to stand up and say something good that Jesus does.

(Choose a child to stand up and speak into the microphone. Give them suggestions of things they can say such as, “He loves us” or “He heals us” or “He takes care of us.”)

Host Let’s travel to Brazil and visit the jungle. It’s far away. Let’s stand up and fly there. Pretend to be an airplane.

Co-Host Who wants to tell something good about Jesus?

(Allow kids to respond.)

Host Let’s travel to our town and pretend to drive a fast car.

Co-Host Who wants to tell something good about Jesus now?

(Allow kids to respond.)

Host Good job. Another way that we can tell good things about Jesus is by singing a song. Let’s stand and worship Jesus together.

Big Story

Let’s practice telling each other good things about Jesus. Turn to someone nearby and tell him or her that Jesus is kind. (Pause) Turn to another friend and say, “Jesus wants to be your friend.” (Pause) You did a good job. Let’s bow our heads and close our eyes. Dear God, thank You for all of the kind things that You do for us. Help us to tell all of our friends and family about You. We love You. Amen.

Host I think that Engineer Courtney will do a great job today. Thanks for helping her learn the Big Point,

Host I Can Tell!

Co-Host We always want to listen closely when we’re at the Train Station. Everyone, point to your ears. Let’s pretend to turn on our listening ears. We hear about Jesus here at the Train Station.

Host We can tell everyone what we’ve heard. Let’s play a game where we practice telling others what we’ve heard. I’m going to whisper something to the first Jr. Conductor. Then he/she will whisper to the next person. We’ll keep doing that until I say stop. Let’s see if we can hear and tell everything.

(Play the telephone game with the preschoolers. Use a simple phrase such as “Jesus loves you” or “Jesus is my friend.” Have the kids tell what they heard after it has traveled a few kids.)

Co-Host You did a great job hearing and telling.

Host I’m glad that we can all follow our Big Point,

Host I Can Tell!
